Treatment

  • De-restoration: disassembly and removal of old glue residues

  • Surface cleaning

  • Bonding of shards

  • Structural filling of gaps and fracture seams for stabilization

This object is part of an ensemble of 58 clay pipe objects that underwent conservation and restoration treatment on the occasion of the exhibition 'OMG! Out and about with Roman gods' (2025) in the Provincial Archeocentrum Velzeke .

The treatment of this object was part of a large-scale cleaning campaign in which 71 objects from the core ceramic collection were cleaned.
